Swedish MPs call for legalization of file-sharing

A growing group of Swedish parliamentarians (originally 7, currently already 13) calls to recognize the realities and file-sharing to legalize. Karl Sigrid, one of the deputies, the statement by the group in English translated and published in his blog. It says, inter alia: Decriminalizing all non-commercial file sharing and forcing the market to adapt is not just the best solution. It’s the only solution, unless we want an ever more extensive control of what citizens do on the Internet. Politicians who play for the ant piracy team should be aware that they have allied themselves with a special interest that is never satisfied and that will always demand that we take additional steps toward the ultimate control state. Today they want to transform the Internet service provider into an online police force, and the Ant piracy Bureau wants the authority for themselves to extract the identities of file sharers. Then they can drag the 15-year-old girl who downloaded a Britney Spears song to civil court and sue her. This insight into the realities is a big success of the Swedish activists by pirates office, the Pirate Party and the Tracker pirate bay which for years this position very offensively. It seems to me that even at official level announced a change because it is clear that excessive control over the communication of every citizen is not consistent with the principles of a society does not tolerate and that there gesammtgesellschaftliche interests are very closely definiereten special interests are facing. Then you could almost be optimistic….
