The Canonical Correlation Analysis toolbox for SPM is a new method for detecting brain activity patterns in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The toolbox combines powerful adaptive digital filtering, canonical correlation analysis and a hemodynamic signal transduction model, i.e. the Balloon model, to detect areas of neural activity in brains. fMRI has become an important tool in the field of neuroscience and the release of this toolbox is a step towards broader adoption of fMRI among clinicians.
